BBC, ITV and Channel 4’s ‘richest’ presenters named with Jamie Oliver estimated to have insane £222m fortune
4 min readThere are some legendary faces presenting the nation’s favourite TV shows, but few people know who’s really bringing in the biggest bucks. But that’s about to change, as online gambling website Slingo has compiled a list of the UK’s top nine high-earning presenters.
The scoring was calculated by examining an estimated net worth, the maximum they can earn per Instagram post, and the maximum they can rake in per Reel. Net worth is calculated by the total wealth of an individual, company, or household, taking account of all financial assets and liabilities.
10 – Holly Willoughby
The 41-year-old is quickly becoming a national treasure, yet remains bottom of the list with a net worth of £5,924,000. But The This Morning and Dancing On Ice co-host brings in a hefty whack from her social media. She can get £65,243.88 per Instagram post, and a whopping £84,780.19 per Reel.
9 – Phillip Schofield
Holly Willoughby’s right-hand-man is next on the list and is worth an estimated £8,886,000. He is also the director of Fistral Productions LTD, and brings in £26,245.00 per Instagram post, which soars to £34,133.24 each Reel.
8 – Nigella Lawson
The cooking goddess who’s renowned for whipping up gut-busting treats is worth an awful lot. £14,810,000 to be precise. If that’s not enough she can earn £23,296.12 for a single Instagram post, and £30,225.98 for a Reel. Considering both figures trump some people’s annual income, it’s safe to say she’s mega rich.
7 – Bear Grylls
Old-Etonian Edward Michael ‘Bear’ Grylls is best known for the famous clip where he inserted a piece of loose hose piping up his backside and performed an enema on himself. Now for most of us that’s the idea of hell – even more so doing it on national television. But it wasn’t in vain, as the 47-year-old is worth around £18,512,500. And if that’s not enough money, imagine earning £41,284.26 for an Instagram post, not to be outdone by the £53,669.54 he sees from a Reel.
6 – David Attenborough
The nation’s granddad is worth £25,917,500, and we can all agree that he’s worth every penny of it. Having given us legendary shows such as Planet Earth, Frozen Planet, and Africa, is it any surprise that he makes £53,227.21 for an Instagram post, rising to £69,224.86 for a Reel?
5 – Ant and Dec
Granted this one’s slightly different as they’re a pair, but it’s the ‘Ant and Dec’ brand (as it were) that’s worth £29,620,000. That’s just. So. Much. Money. The Ant & Dec Productions Limited owners are bringing in £38,482.83 each Instagram post, and £50,057.17 for a Reel
4 – Richard Hammond
‘Hammond’ as his Top Gear cronies used to call him has an estimated net worth of £33,322,500. This isn’t to be outdone by the £9,436.40 he cashes in per Instagram post, and £12,311.56 per Reel.
If you don’t remember him from Top Gear, then you may remember Richard Hammond from being the presenter of Brainiac: Science Abuse (fyi: if you recall him from the science show – it means you’re getting on a bit). He also narrated nature series Planet Earth Live back in 2012.
3 – Jeremy Clarkson
Another Top Gear face, this time the main man who was sacked by the BBC for punching a producer in the face. Despite this he’s worth an eye watering £44,430,000 – it’s alright for some. And if that’s not enough money, each Instagram post is worth £39,293.77, which spikes to £51,089.28 for a Reel.
2 –Gordon Ramsay
‘G Rams’, the famous swearing chef known for his one liners such as “IT LOOKS LIKE GHANDI’S FLIP FOP” has an estimated net worth of £162,910,000, which will include the rather tasty abode he owns on Wandsworth Common. He rakes in £115,006.16 for an Instagram post, and £148,918.24 for a Reel
1 – Jamie Oliver
At number one is the chef who cleaned-up our school dinners. He’s amassed a huge following along the way, hence why he’s worth a staggering £162,910,000. That’s an insane amount of cash! It’s no surprise he’s worth this much, especially as he gets £115,006.16 for an Instagram post, and £148,918.24 for a Reel.
